                                                            SAN PEDRO NEIGHBORHOODS



 
San Pedro is a beach community within Los Angeles, California, USA. It was annexed in 1909 and
is a major seaport of the area. The town has grown from being dominated by the fishing industry to
become primarily a working class town within the City of Los Angeles. The name of the town is
pronounced /sænˈpiːdroʊ/ by its residents, even its Hispanic residents, rather by than its Spanish
pronunciation [samˈpeðɾo].
 
  
 
                                                                                                    
 
 

  
  • Southeast area in San Pedro includes the Cabrillo Beach area.           
  • Short walking distance to beach, ocean and parks.
  • A mixed use area with quaint popular restaurants, apartments, condominiums and homes. 
  • Certain properties have views of the harbor, city and ocean. 
  • The homes were built in the early 1900’s with newer homes mixed in.

The Plaza Area - Downtown 
  
  • The Old Town San Pedro now known as the “Port Marina” is close to the Los Angeles Harbor with most buildings built in the 1900’s.
  • New construction currently nearing completion are condominiums built in the vertical high density style  named the “Vue”.  With 318 units and a harbor view, they offer 2 and 3 bedroom units.
  • The Center Street Lofts will contain 110 units. 
  • The Bank Lofts now selling this  year, offers 89 units.
  • Downtown San Pedro is flourishing with numerous condominiums and other developments. All are within walking distance to an abundance of fantastic restaurants.

Eastview Rancho Palos Verdes 
  • “The Rivera”offers residential homes located west of Western Ave. in the North Rancho Palos Verdes area annexed from San Pedro.
  • Contains only single family homes.
  • This area attracts families and their children who can attend Palos Verdes schools.
  • Located near shopping centers, coffee shops, restaurants as well as fast food restaurants.
  • A short distance to the freeway makes this is a prime area.
 
  • “Strathmore Homes”were built in the early 1970’s.  Strathmore consists of single family homes with square footage ranging from 1400 to 3000.
  • Located just east of Western Ave. and now in Rancho Palos Verdes after being annexed from San Pedro.
  • It's close to schools, shopping and just a short distance to the freeway.
  • Always a popular family area.
 

 

  • Located west of Western Avenue and central San Pedro.   
  • Estimated to be 300 homes
  • Mostly contemporary modern design of 1 story homes from 1,400 to 2,000 square feet. 
  • A family oriented area and, like most areas of San Pedro, are close to schools, shopping, parks and freeways.
 
 

 
  • Built in the 1950’s in southwest San Pedro.         
  • A tract of approximately 500 homes on good size lots with square footage of 800 to 2,500.
  • A well kept tract of homes.
  • Ideal for taking a smaller home and adding on square footage.
  • Don’t let the tract name fool you (Catalina View Tract) only a few actually offer the Catalina view and, of course, are not sold very often and there is a price for the view!
  • Located closer to the ocean but not far from the ocean, parks, freeways, restaurants, shopping and schools.
 
 

 
  • Northwest San Pedro mostly single family homes.      
  • A popular tract of approximately 80 homes built on a hillside overlooking San Pedro with sweeping views.
  • Offering mostly modern style homes of approximately 1,800 to 3,000 square feet.
  • Only minutes to the freeway, shopping, parks and restaurants.
  • The Miraleste Pines homes are well kept with that pride of ownership look.
 
 

 
Holy Trinity Area Homes
  • Named after the Catholic church and school an older more established area with mostly single family homes.     
  • Offering a variety of architecture with California bungalows, craftsman, tutors, modern, Spanish and others. 
  • Some of the topography is hillside and offers views of the Vincent Thomas bridge, harbor (cruise ships) and city lights. 
  • Some of the Holy Trinity area is strictly R1 (single family residences) and other Holy Trinity locations offer condominium/townhomes. 
  • This popular area also offers multi family from 2 on a lot, or 6 to 8 small cottages on large lots or the more traditional 3, 4, 5 or more apartments.
  • Holy Trinity is close to schools, parks, shopping and freeways and, of course, the churchs and schools.
